Today we went to the Northwest Nature Shop to visit with Guinea Pigs and Bunnies! We had a great time. Gabe held a couple animals and then got very distracted with all the amazing toys! I held a Himalayan Bunnie. We were told they are the best breed with kids. Very mellow, and will lay on your lap a long time. We even saw some friends there! Rachel and James!

Today is Gabe's 3rd Birthday! I always continue to be shocked by how fast time goes by and I just can't believe he is already 3! We enjoy him so much. He really cracks us up.
Some of the things that make me smile are:
The 2 "blankies" (certain white cloth diapers that are soft and fraying) he carries around and sleeps with. 1 of them being left at home during any outing, the other "soft blankie" getting taken where ever we go.
The Beanie Baby "puppy" that he carries around and also sleeps with.
The baby doll that he says "I miss you baby, while at Grandma's house. Wove you." Not to mention who also joins him in his crib.
Having to put "honney" on his oatmeal every morning.
And with any words that start with "w," mostly where and what he says, "wwwwwwwwwhere are you going, Frampa (Grandpa)?" OR "wwwwwwwwwwwhat you doing, mom?"
Lately, if I am leaving or he is leaving without me, he will give me a big hug, say "wove you", and say "miss you, mom!"

Gabers with his sharp/slick looking hair after a shower.
We love this kid! And of course his big brother too! We are so thankful for the growing family the Lord has blessed us with!

Gabe at the dentist
Today, Gabe went to the dentist also. First time for him and he did a great job! The doctor said his teeth look great! He did the back teeth x-rays and everything!
Carson at the dentist
Carson went to the dentist yesterday for the first time. He did a good job. He couldn't take the back teeth x-rays because of gagging and not wanting to bite down for long enough. He did a good job though. I guess he already has 2 adult molars, which was news to me! :) He has to have a little work done due to possible grinding.
He wore their green star glasses and a purple glove for a couple of minutes.

Whole Wheat Bread
My mom has made this bread over the years and I love it! I haven't made too much bread, well really I have made bread one time. And it was bread that didn't need to rise, mainly because the rising thing for some reason freaks me out.
Debbie made some bread and doughnut holes on Saturday for the BIRTHDAY potluck we had for Trever and GG and since I can't get any of those today, I thought this was the next best thing. Make it myself! AH!
My mom is home today, and so I thought it would be perfect for me to make it with her help and guidance. It is made and rising right now, so I thought I would type out the recipe while I waited. It is one of my favorite breads!!!
WHOLE WHEAT BREAD, Ron Salladay
Mix together,
8c white flour and
4c whole wheat flour.
6c warm water. Mix in and dissolve
3 T bread making yeast
1/2 c honey
1 T (or less if you like) salt
Let water mixture sit for about 5 minutes.
Add water mixture to flour and start to mix.
Add 1/2-3/4c partially (15 minutes) cooked wild or brown rice and
1/2-3/4c cooked (for 10 minutes) Irish (or regular) oats.
Mix the gooey mess all up together!
Try as best, to make a "ball" in the center of the bowl.
Cover the bowl with wax paper and a towel.
Let rise for 1 hour in a warm spot.
Punch it down and
Let rise for about 45 more minutes in warm spot again.
Grease pans, makes 5 1# loaves.
With the pan size that we have, it made 4 loaves.
Divide up dough and let it rise until fluffy and looking like a loaf of bread.
Bake at 450* for 5 minutes, then at 350* for up to 30 minutes, until top is golden brown.
Eat out of the oven, freeze or refrigerate.
If you make it, enjoy! If not, I will enjoy mine for you! ;)
Hope you are enjoying your day! Aloha.
