Mother's Day

These last several years I have been trying my best on Mother's Day to get a picture of myself with the kids that have made me a mama.  I have also been getting pictures of my Grandma, my mom and I together.

I thought it would be neat to look at some of them all in a row.  (You can click on the images to make them larger).

So there ya have it.  There are a couple years that I can't find, but you get the idea.

Hope you had a blessed Mother's Day.  Overall, mine was pretty good.  I had a very yummy lunch with my mama and Grandma, which I love doing, so that was nice.

Is it Time?!

I have very inconsistently been trying to get Gabe to go potty on the big boy potty.  In the last couple of days he has taken more of an interest by himself.  A few days ago, after he woke up from his nap we had this little conversation:

G:  Ooooh nuts!  I forgot!
M:  What did you forget?
G:  I forgot to go pee!
M:  You have your diaper on, you can go...

That wasn't good enough, I guess, because he marched upstairs to sit on the Diego potty and go pee.  And he went!

After nap today, he said the same thing, that he forgot to go.  So, we headed into the bathroom, took off the almost dry diaper and then he went!  Carson's big boy pants were in there and so he put those on, backwards so that Spiderman was on the front, and then his pants.  He went potty several more times on Diego and once outside on our walk.  He did have one accident of pee and the start of an accident of poops.  We rushed to the toilet, again he sat on Diego and he went a ton more!

We are so proud of him, as any parent is of their potty training child!!!  This is fantastic to be doing this now!  So proud of my little 3 year old!

Got Diaper Rash?

Gabe has had some horrible diaper rashes (that seem to be related to food) and just recently I have found an awesome cure! Seriously!!! The. Best. Ever! A + D Ointment. Better than Desitin by far! Within one diaper change (from morning until lunch time change) it starts to help. If it is used over night, usually the rash will be gone in the morning.

Just thought I would pass it on...

Aloha.

Clarify

Thank you ladies for your feedback on my questions (more feedback is definitely welcomed!). I think I need to clarify though. My question about the kids is literally directed to you.

I am curious how others have decided how many kiddlings they have. How do you decide to have 2, or 3 and not just one more, or 4 more? Is it based on whether you have had a boy and a girl? Is it based on odd or even numbers? We have 2 (a family of 4 is perfect?) that is enough? To those parents who have 3 kids - have you noticed any odd man out? We have 1 and just want 1 more (ending in an even number)?

I know some may think this is none of my business, or a shouldn't even ask these questions, but I really am just curious how other couples decided on how large of a family they want.

Again, thank you ladies for all the wonderful advice on my questions.

Aloha!

Complex and kids

I have 2 very important questions for you and I really would like feedback for both. Please.

QUESTION 1:
At what point and how do you decide when to "stop" having kids? Age, finances, 1 boy, 1 girl...?

QUESTION 2:
A. Do you wear (or how do you feel about wearing) brown and black together? For example: I have a brown pair of shoe that have black soles, does that mean I can wear a black shirt or only a brown shirt?
B: Jewelry. Do you wear gold and silver together? Is that a fashion faux pas?

Looking forward to hearing about what you have to say!

Aloha.
