Dinner with the Quast Family

Jake, Carson, Gabe, Ben, Sammie, Audrey and Sailor

Last night we went to the Quast family house for a BBQ. We had lots of fun, as always. All the kids are growing up so fast! I can't believe I met that family just after Ben turned 1 and Jake was almost 3! Audrey Grace wasn't even here yet! And now Jake is going to be a Freshman at Cascade! WOW! Time flies!

Thank you Quast Kids & Sailor too for playing with Carson and Gabe! They loved playing with you kiddos. And thank you Deborah and Jerry for a fun night! Love ya!

Aloha.

Washer & Dryer Tips

This morning my mom had Ron with A-1 Appliance (great to work with!) come take a look at her washer. While he was here, I got some tips from him and wanted to share with you!

* Always leave water level on a large or extra large size load (no matter what size of laundry load you are doing).

* Fill just over half full with clothing. DO NOT OVER FILL!

* ALWAYS, ALWAYS, ALWAYS give your washer a 30 minute break in between washing loads. The motor gets really hot and with my moms washer there is a rubber and plastic piece that touch each other. If they get too hot the rubber piece can melt the plastic piece.

* The accordion ventilation hose needs to be about 6" long with out any twists, bends or kinks.

* If you need to put a brick (or something else) behind the dryer to keep it in the right spot (if it gets bumped around or run into) so it won't bend up the ventilation hose do it!

* Make sure the washer isn't lop-sided b/c then the water will hit the rim thinger and leak out the bottom.

* Always buy Whirlpool. Ron said anything else will just end up costing you money.

* Don't drop the washer lid. It can brake the trigger thing that tells the machine to spin out the clothes.

* Turn the dial setting SLOWLY. The knob is about a $90 piece, take your time and slow down.

* And if your washer is lop-sided, lift up the lid, pull the washer down and towards you and kinda jerk it to pop out the back feet.

OK. There ya have it. Those are today's tips for you! Hope it may give your washer & dryer a longer life!

Aloha.

June is over!?

HERE are pictures from the month of June. Take a look see if you please!

The 4th!!!

I love the 4th!

This year started a lot differently for Trev and I. We ran in the Ashland 10k race. Wow. A little on the brutal side . I am glad we did it in the end. If we do it again I would like our time to decrease by 10-15 minutes. That is probably why people keep doing runs, to beat their times and other peoples times, huh?

After we ran and didn't fall over (not joking), we ate a couple bites of food they had for us and then rode our bikes back home to shower. After we hooked the tag-a-long and trailer up to my bike we rode back up and met up with the Cox family, my mom and the boys to watch the JETS and the parade.

We had lunch at home, rested/napped and then headed over to the open space across the street from my moms. It was a wonderful, relaxing BBQ. Great food and great company!

After dinner we went home, got ready for bed and called it a night. I saw a couple of the Ashland City fireworks from our bathroom window, but that was it for us and fireworks this year. :)

Hope you all had a great 4th! I am so thankful to the men and women who have served for this countries freedom! And the current solders too! What solders do is beyond appreciated. Remember to thank our troops!

Aloha.
